Chrometana - Redirect Bing Somewhere Better

Thwart Microsoft's Bing with Chrometana Chrome Extension

Are you tired of Bing constantly popping up as your default search engine? Look no further than Chrometana, a powerful Chrome extension that redirects all Bing search requests to a search engine of your choice. With a total rating of 3.689083820662768 and based on user reviews, Chrometana has garnered many positive reviews and recommendations from popular tech publications like Engadget, CNET, Gizmodo, IBTimes, and WindowsClub.

Say Goodbye to Bing with Chrometana

Chrometana is the perfect solution for those who want to defeat Microsoft's attempt to make Bing the go-to search engine. By using this handy Chrome extension , you can ensure that all Bing search requests, including Cortana ones, are automatically redirected to popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, or DuckDuckGo. It's a simple and effective way to regain control over your search preferences.

Enjoy a Streamlined User Interface and Increased Security

Chrometana has recently undergone a UI overhaul, providing users with a more streamlined and intuitive interface. Additionally, the latest update (version 2.0) includes enhanced security measures to prevent any compromise or malware threats. The developer is actively working with Google to address any issues and ensure the safety of its users.

How to Enable Chrometana

In order to fully utilize Chrometana, ensure that Chrome is set as your default browser. If you prefer to use another search engine instead of Bing, simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to Chrome Settings
  2. Click on "Show Advanced Settings"
  3. Scroll down to System
  4. Check the box that says "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed"

Enabling background apps is necessary for Chrometana to work even when Chrome is closed. By doing so, you can seamlessly redirect all Bing searches to your preferred search engine.

Choose the Best Chrome Extension

It's important to note that while Chrometana has received positive reviews, the original developer is no longer maintaining the extension. However, there is another developer who has created a more modern and secure version called "Chrometana Pro - Redirect Cortana and Bing." We recommend using this updated version for the best experience.

Remember, it's crucial to prioritize your online security and only use trusted and regularly updated extensions. Stay safe and enjoy a hassle-free browsing experience with Chrometana Pro!

doesnt work, windows search still opens bing and edge.

It does what it says it does. Idk why the other people are saying it doesn't work. It clearly does. Now tbh I can't find options for other browsers, so it only redirects Bing to Google, but it still works.

Restarted computer, typed in "I'm Bringing Sexy Back" into the search bar, and it loaded chatgpt enabled bing.
